A New Class of Zero-Inflated Logarithmic Series Distribution
Authors
Abstract:
Through this paper we suggest an alternative form of the modified zero-inflated logarithmic series distribution of Kumar and Riyaz (Statistica, 2013) and study some of its important aspects. The method of maximum likelihood is employed for estimating the parameters of the distribution and certain test procedures are considered for testing the significance of the additional parameter of the model. Further, all the procedures are illustrated with the help of two real life data sets.

New Multivariate Zero-inflated Binomial Distribution with Application
A new multivariate zero-inflated binomial distribution has the purpose of analyzing the multivariate proportional data with excessive zeros. The distributional properties of the purposed model are discussed. The Newton Raphson, Fisher score and expectation maximization algorithm are developed for estimating parameters of interest. The score test and the likelihood ratio test are derived for ass...
full textA Bayesian Test for Excess Zeros in a Zero-inflated Power Series Distribution
Abstract: Power series distributions form a useful subclass of one-parameter discrete exponential families suitable for modeling count data. A zero-inflated power series distribution is a mixture of a power series distribution and a degenerate distribution at zero, with a mixing probability p for the degenerate distribution. This distribution is useful for modeling count data that may have extr...

We introduce the generalized zero-inflated allocation scheme of placing n labeled balls into N labeled cells. We study the asymptotic behavior of the number of empty cells when (n,N) belongs to the “right” and “left” domain of attraction. An application to the estimation of characteristics of agreement among a set of raters which independently classify subjects into one of two categories is als...
full textInference for Zero Inflated Truncated Power Series Family of Distributions
Zero-inflated data indicates that the data set contains an excessive number of zeros. The word zero-inflation is used to emphasize that the probability mass at the point zero exceeds than the one allowed under a standard parametric family of discrete distributions. Gupta et al. [1], Murat & Szynal [2], Patil & Shirke [3] have contributed to estimation and testing of the parameters involved in Z...
